Fuqua Park – Duncan, Oklahoma
U.S. Highway 81 & Beech
Fuqua Park is operated by the City of Duncan and is open from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Summer evenings here are filled with parents and laughing children enjoying Kiddie Land with a couple of amusement rides operated by volunteers. Homeland across the street has an awesome deli to stock your picnic.
There was a small Koi pond set up on the opposite side of the park from all the children playing. Good thinking by the planners in my opine. It has been replaced by a wonderful prayer circle.
The slideshow below includes a view of the 905. It was moved across the park and placed next to this new train station built with small museum inside. They have video you can see of how the move was accomplished. Entry was free when I visited but they appreciate donations to help keep the doors open.
I don’t own this park. It surprised me how many phone callers thought I did 🙂 This is one of the good things about this town I mentioned. I miss a lot due to my day job but know there are carnivals, a day for the kids to meet cops and get safety gear, the humane society has their day, Bark in The Park and live music.
