I found a group of people who like it here in Duncan on Facebook that reflects the intent of this website. I wanted to let more people know they exist. These are just short clips from their ‘Positively Duncan’ group page, with links into Facebook for more.
From local business reviews to savoured memories, no telling what you’ll find.

Laura Fisher ThomasI have a rose bed (roughly 4' x 12') that needs grass and weeds pulled out of. I also would like the soil churned up and some weed stop material placed down, then top it with mulch. Not a HUGE job but not a quick and easy one either. Also have a few other things she can do for more $, if interested.11 seconds ago
I just wanted to give a huge shout out to the young lady, Jessica Young that found my pearl necklace and turned it in to the service desk at Walmart and say THANK YOU so very much!!! I hadn't worn them in a long time. (They were the set I wore at my wedding rehearsal and hold a sentimental value.) When Aubrey Spivey, my daughter, called me this morning to tell me what she had in her hand and the story... I am so thankful. ... See MoreSee Less

Much has been said lately on Facebook and in the press about Duncan High School, the principal, counselor and administration in regards to honoring Alyssa Wiles memory throughout graduation activities and the final ceremony on Thursday. Most of the information has been one-sided and in my opinion not always fair to everyone involved. Losing a child is beyond horrible and I will not even begin to say I understand the pain because I haven't been there. Unfortunately there are many parents in our community who have felt that pain and they all deal with it in different ways. I have remained silent on this matter until now. There comes a time when you have to raise your voice and stand up for the people you care about and work with on a daily basis. For me that time has come. Lets try to remember there are over 300 other students who are involved in graduation on Thursday and this ceremony is also about them and their families. While I'm sure everyone involved has empathy for the Wiles family not everyone feels that the school or the administration has acted unfairly or in no way disrespectful to this family, Many of us think that they have gone out of their way to try to make these activities as memorable as possible for the family and frankly we are getting tired of hearing our friends and co-workers harshly criticized when they have chosen to remain quiet and respectful in regards to the situation. I work with all of these women on a daily basis. They are highly professional, caring, champions for children who are often criticized and seldom given gratitude for a job that is not for the faint of heart. I realize this forum is for positive comments about our community and think it's time some of us speak up for our school administration and give them credit for trying to do the best they can to make this week memorable for everyone. As an administrator you will never make everyone happy. Someone is going to be angry with you on a daily basis. I for one want to say THANK-YOU to all of our wonderful teachers, administrators, counselors and support personnel for another year in the books and a JOB WELL DONE!! #demonpride ... See MoreSee Less
