I found a group of people who like it here in Duncan on Facebook that reflects the intent of this website. I wanted to let more people know they exist. These are just short clips from their ‘Positively Duncan’ group page, with links into Facebook for more.
From local business reviews to savoured memories, no telling what you’ll find.
Y'all, stop whatever you are doing. Just step out for a second and come get a piece of this cake. It is SO. GOOD. You will thank me. 🎃 #PumpkinLayeredCake #CinnamonCreamCheeseIcing #CinnamonCandi...
Sunny Smith Pollock shared Thinking Humanity's video to the group: POSITIVELY DUNCAN!

I hear people all the time make negative comments about the kids of today and post things about kids on facebook that are very discouraging. I am one of the assistant principals at Duncan Middle School and I want to report on just a few things I have seen just this last couple of weeks...
1-Three young ladies came in to the middle school office and paid for another student to gain access to a chromebook. They asked not to be identified and didn't want anyone to know they were doing it.
2-I have witnessed numerous kids go to other kids and offer to buy them lunch when it appeared they did not have the money to buy lunch for themselves
3-I saw a little 6th grade girl go out of her way to assist a special needs girl that had fallen down(she wasn't hurt). She helped her pick up all her things, held her hand as she tried to stand back up, and then walked with her to her lunch table to make sure she got there ok
4-Several members of our softball team bought food and gave money to a homeless person that was at the fast food restaurant where they were eating.
5-I have had more students refer to me with "yes sir" and "no sir" this year than ever before.
Are there problems with some of the things going on with this generation? Absolutely, but we also have some fantastic kids that make me proud. Hats off to these parents and for the outstanding morals and character that you have instilled in your children. I could write more about some of these amazing kids, but I hope you get the picture. ... See MoreSee Less

Delaine ParkerLove your post! Yes, we do have wonderful kids at DMS. They are learning this at home, at school or even both! So pat yourself on the back DMS staff! You play a huge role in our children's lives and we can't thank you enough for that!1 day ago · 3
Anita Luke SmithThank you for posting this. And the fact that the kids requested to remain anonymous says a lot about their character and their parents! Matthew 6:1-8 6 “Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. 2 “So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.1 day ago · 3
Willoemae WaldroopIt is usually the kids who do favors in secret and do not draw attention to themselves. God Bless all these kids who think of others.1 day ago · 1
Tonya CookIt's great to hear the positive because it seems like all we do hear lately is the negative things it makes me happy to know what we all know but just don't say " we have great children great people in general in our town and I'm proud to be here1 day ago
Willoemae WaldroopEver hear the saying: " You attract more bees with honey, then vinegar"? So true. Kindness/thoughtfulness/compassion never went out of style.1 day ago · 2
I was on a site that I saw this post and I couldn't help myself. I do not know this man Bradley Hunt or his son. But I do want to give this man recognition for a well job done. It was a post that someone put because they were upset about this truck speeding. Instead of getting defensive like some of us would. He Thank the person for letting him know, a knowledge that it was his son, and was a parent to his son. There were some that was still mad and he never lost his cool. Even though he didnt owe us any explanation he went ahead and told us how he handle it. We all have been young and wild. It takes a community to raise a child. We help each other and stay positive because not one person is perfect. Also, let me insist you to read his last comment from Bradley. It is a young man that is fixing to enlist to become a Marine. His son is willing to fight for you, me and this great counrty. Also, fly that Flag brother because this is America and there is meaning behind that flag. God bless you and your family. ... Sarah Kamama SuttonFYI I saw this truck like 2 days ago and he was driving the speed limit and was driving much much better than I had seen a few months ago. Having a nice chilled approach to how you handle life with your kids makes all the difference in them listening and doing what is asked.2 days ago · 6
