I found a group of people who like it here in Duncan on Facebook that reflects the intent of this website. I wanted to let more people know they exist. These are just short clips from their ‘Positively Duncan’ group page, with links into Facebook for more.
From local business reviews to savoured memories, no telling what you’ll find.

Yesterday, my sweet friend, Rashelle Carr, hosted a youth basketball camp with all the proceeds going to me to help pay my medical bills.
I'm so blessed by her friendship and willingness not only to help myself, but so many others.
She has a huge heart and I'm so very thankful to be on the receiving end of her huge heart this time.
I'm also thankful for those who helped her yesterday, Shamear Meme Scott, Mason Dalton Dismuke, and Coach Phil Barnes.
And thank you to my sweet friend Heidi Yarborough Cramton for sponsoring all of the t-shirts.
And for those of you who showed up and let your kiddos participate, thank you so much!!! It means the world to me to have the love and support of not only my friends, but also the community. God bless you! ... See MoreSee Less

June ChamblessWasn't that fundraiser for the Stephens Co Museum when they were first starting it? I bought my set at the counter of Antique Market. (May have the name wrong, in the old Dixey Store) Bill & Bobbie High. I wonder if whoever had the fundraiser could get a reprinting and to another. We have a whole new generation needing to get them.3 hours ago · 1

Beware this is tough....
Something to think about:
I’ve been so heartbroken this week over one of our great community churches closing its doors. Almost immediately different ones began to “advertise” for their church. Where is the love and compassion for part of the body of Christ that is hurting? If we hurt a body part, our whole body rushes to the wound to aid in restoration and healing.
I’m all for sharing Jesus and inviting people to your respective churches but when churches are growing out of the hurt of other churches, that IS NOT true growth.
It’s been 20+ years since our community has experienced true revival where the lost were being reached and lives changed. I’m not talking about Christians who are trying to “maintain until Jesus comes” or “bless me Lord.”
We are all ONE body of Christ, not little individual “kingdoms.” We need to start acting like the body. Love and restore unconditionally. Church should be refuge for the lost and hurting, NOT a museum of comfortability.
I wonder what some of the great evangelists like Billy Sunday would advise? I think he would be saying to us to preach Salvation and Hope and the UNITY of the Spirit.
DUNCAN, 100 churches for a county area of less than 50,000? Not a single church in the county is filled to capacity with people unable to get in.
We need to bind together and pray for true revival, for souls, for hurting people to be restored and for the hurting to be healed!
It’s not about my church or your church (because at the rapture that won’t matter), it’s about the body of Christ unifying to see this community won for the cause of Christ!
I am praying that God changes me, changes all of us for his Kingdom’s sake! Bless you all! ... See MoreSee Less
Ky Kyle KellyI'm sorry to hear that!! We go to a church that is very small your not expected to do anything just come as you are! We have about 20 people most days Even as small as it is our pastor is a family friend, he is a great man! They don't pass a offering plate, we have a discreet drop box so people that don't have money to give don't get embarrassed, we do many fellowships The reason I love it the most we come together and praise5 days ago · 3
Disa SchornickI’m sorry you don’t feel this is a positive message; however, My post is meant to be a positive and challenging message to encourage our community to be unified for the cause of Christ.5 days ago · 6
Drew ColeI'm on staff at NewLife Church. I've Been going there for 7 1/2 years. I haven't taken any invitation or groups if invitations as "attacking like vulture". I do get your point. Though. I've seen posts of someone asking about a church in the past and it was like a competition, or popularity contest who could post the most about their church. I always tried to ask what the people wanted (usually ina pm) and help guide them through the maze of really good churches. Here's what I would ask as a person who is watching a very dear chapter in their life end and will be looking for a new church home: be patient with people as they search for a new church. Don't push. Don't take it personally if they go somewhere else. Don't take it personally if they are quiet, sit in back, come in late, leave fast, and seem uncomfortable. Let people ease into things. Not everyone wants to join every group and volunteer right away. But as a Christian and soon to be former church staff member, I really wish people would concentrate on reaching the lost. Us faithful christians, we are the low hanging fruit of people to bring to church. You go bring a crew of people thatve never been to church before, now you've impressed me. Go be the light in the dark, to the lost. Those of us in the light can find our way. Peace, love, bacon grease.5 days ago · 16
Bethany BoltonI respectfully disagree on one point. I disagree about the true revival, where the lost were being reached. I truly believe that the lost are being reached and lives are being changed at my church. My life is being changed by God, Jesus, AND my church. Same for many others that attend our church. If you are interested, you are welcome to visit. I attend Freedom Biker Church.5 days ago · 6
Debbie BradburryYou don't see preachers going knocking on doors at house's and testify about Jesus Christ neither, 15yrs ago I seen a few,i think they should get out and take a few church leaders with them and do it again, you can't reach people on the cell phones.the only ones I see twice a week is the jovah witness walking or riding bikes.and don't hurt to have the good old tent revival5 days ago · 3
Disa SchornickRespectfully, that type of grassroots personal outreach is exactly what the Lord has placed on my husband and I’s heart and what we’ve been doing since coming to Duncan to Pastor a couple months ago. We’ve been blessed to witness and pray for several people in neighborhoods near our church. Every church has their own methods that work for them but ALL of us have the same “Great Commission.” I think that if we as a community extend unconditional love and the good news of a loving Savior then that’s when true revival can happen. I’m happy to hear there are churches who’s people feel blessed in their church, my point is simply we need to bind together as Christians and church members to move beyond our little walls and truly reach this community for Jesus.5 days ago · 7
Brenda ThompsonSo sad to hear about New Life closing. I just pray God lead them to the church He wants them in.5 days ago · 3
Dawn SkilesIt has to be heartbreaking to have your church pulled right out from under you. I can't think of one Church in town that wouldn't feel blessed to have any of you come and visit you all have such big decisions to make and each of you have to make the decision that is going to fit best for you. Westside Christian Church welcomes anyone but most of all we pray that you find peace and a new church home5 days ago · 3
Courtney Rose MannIt breaks my heart that NewLife is closing. My family and I were in the first service in a living room! There have been times in the last 8 years that I have been at the church almost every day in a week and there have been times that we haven't been for months, but what I can say about our church is that it has been a place where so many of us have developed a personal relationship with Christ! There is no way that I could count up how many found salvation and developed something that we can carry where ever we go! We also have each other as we go out into this big world and find new churches to go to. My NewLife family will always be family to me. I came into that church full of nervousness and I will come out of the last service this Sunday knowing that I am covered by something bigger than a church building! I am saved! I am changed! I will be forever grateful to NewLife and it's staff for taking on the stragglers and the broken like me! They have been instrumental in turning some if the worst of us into the strongest for God's Army! I am not offended by all the church invites though! I truly believe that we will disperse to different churches all over this area and that we will be able to share what we have been given to others! I know that He will show us the way and I know He is with me every step!4 days ago · 8

Carrie CaldwellAs a member of New Life, I appreciate the invites to new churches. My family has a short list of churches we want to visit, but it grew by two (that I had forgotten about) due to people posting & inviting.4 days ago · 4
Sara Herrington BrownAs a fellow Duncan church member, my heart goes out to New Life. Losing a church family you dearly love is very difficult. I pray that your church fellowship continues to encourage one another and be there for one another, even if you begin to attend different places. I’m praying it’s a force for more unity in Duncan and not another source of division. And I’m praying that those reaching out are doing so because they genuinely care and want to help you find a new home.4 days ago · 6
Jean SchalitI feel we're all going to the same church if we're clear on the essentials; 1 who God is, 2 who Christ is, 3 who all mankind is, sinners in need of salvation, 4 what Christ did to save us, 5 what we must do to receive that salvation , 6 that the bible is Gods Word inerrant, we're just going to different buildings on Sundays and Wednesdays.4 days ago · 9
Shawna FosterAs a community, and this whole world needs prayer. You don't have to be in a church to know God is with you. Yes, it does help. I seen earlier someone mentioned good old tent revival. I love that! We started our "Pop up for Prayer" tent here in Duncan first time. And we absolutely love and so blessed by the response and support we got. We are continuing with this. PRAYER is free! We are not advertising for our church etc, we are trying to help reach people in our community that need help, that need a listening ear, they need to know they matter, and God is with them through it all. God Bless you all❤4 days ago · 4
Lori Hall-BelcherDisa Schornick I totally understand what you are saying. I do pray this congregation knows we grieve with them for their loss and also pray they will follow God's will for their new home wherever that might be. I also pray they will not be discouraged but lean on each other and other Christians. My heart hurts for their loss.4 days ago · 5
