This came to me in an email about 8 years ago and gets a belly laugh every time I find it in the archives again. Pasted in for your amusement as it was received:
Don’t know if this story is true or know who wrote it …
I never dreamed slowly cruising on my motorcycle through a residential neighborhood could be so incredibly dangerous! Little did I suspect.
I was on Brice Street – a very nice neighborhood with perfect lawns and slow traffic. As I passed an oncoming car, a brown furry missile shot out from under it and tumbled to a stop immediately in front of me.
My first job working in an office offered a curious lesson the very first morning.
My mentor was a 70 something man with permanent smile who seemed amused that I had made it into the office but he obeyed orders and did his best to show me the ropes.
To get started, he introduced me to Margie, who served all the men in that office as their gopher, secretary, whatever was needed. So my first morning, he insisted, “Tell Margie to fetch you some coffee.”

Most any business owner can type the name of their business into just about any search engine and find their company on page 1, listed via companies they may never have heard of nor communicated with.
At first glance this seems like a good thing until you try clicking on a few of the links and realize there is nothing more there than one would find in one of them paperback phone books they throw on your front porch every spring.
My favorite pizza place in town, Pizza-N-Stuff, just came online with their full menu this past week. I think having their menu online is going to boost delivery orders and the search engines already list them as #1 for the terms ‘calzone duncan’.
